The world’s first undersea villa, The Muraka, opens its triumphant gates at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort this November 2018. Guests are invited to dive into the treasured hideaway stowed within the island, where they can dream away five metres beneath the Indian Ocean’s waves and be literally surrounded by natural landscapes of marine life.  The Japanese-designed and minimalist-inspired accommodation can house up to nine guests and contains two floors connected by a spiral staircase and an elevator. And, its high-tech structure is built to withstand all of the ocean’s forces so travelers can sleep soundly within the surrounding seaworld.

With integrated living as a focal point for the 5,921 square foot design, the bathroom with an ocean-facing tub, glass-panelled bedrooms, butler’s quarters, powder room, kitchen, bar and dining area, set the scene for the most fantastical retreat on the planet.

Above the sea, are two sun terraces and a luxury private infinity pool to enjoy the exotic sunsets. And, down under, lies the 193 square foot undersea suite consisting of a king-size bedroom, living room and bathroom to soak in the views.

Undersea dwellers can further optimize their experience at this shimmering ocean palace by plunging into the plethora of water sports and customized excursions. Guests are also bestowed with VIP amenities such as fast-track arrival and departure airport service, daily spa treatments and exclusive use of the resort’s yachts and speedboats. Not to mention, 24-hour butler service, an on-call personal fitness trainer, yoga instructor and private chef, are inclusive and exclusive to The Muraka.

Booking rates for this resort have yet to be announced but its restaurant, Ithaa, the world’s first underwater restaurant, is already accepting reservations for this exquisite ocean gem.
