There's something about drinking whiskey out of a crystal glass that just feels classy. Now imagine sipping whiskey out of a crystal glass while sitting in the highest bar in the world, and you're living the life of a king. Such is the reality of Alfresco 64, a brand new bar in Bangkok, Thailand, that's truly an elevated experience (pardon the pun).

As the latest addition to the Lebua at State Tower hotel (you know, the one featured in The Hangover Part II) the bar joins a collection of rooftop bars and restaurants on the 64th floor, at 243 metres above ground. And while it may not be quite as visually stunning as other offerings like the Skybar, it has a much more intimate vibe, offering a beautifully-designed space to sit down, relax, and indulge in top notch whiskey.

On the menu is the Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute — at $550 per pour — and the Chivas Regal "Lebua blend" which costs over $6,000 per bottle. And while extremely expensive whiskeys are great and all, it's nice to know that whiskey-based cocktails are also available.

As for the venue, it may hold the title of 'world's highest whiskey bar' for only a short while. The Sky Observation Deck at Thailand's new 314-meter MahaNakhon building is due to open in 2018, marking a new tallest bar in the city soon.
