Queen of gospel Mahalia Jackson and jazz legend Duke Ellington debuted the very first New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 1970, in the very city where jazz was born. Almost forty years later, the NO Jazz Fest has branched out to almost every genre of music, in addition to accumulating four Festival of the Year awards, and has been repeatedly described as the most diverse and best music festival in the United States.
But with such an impressive and extensive line up that includes everyone from Stevie Wonder and Tom Petty to Lorde and Snoop Dogg, planning out your plan of attack is not the easiest of tasks. Thankfully, we're here to help with a curated playlist of all the best tunes you can catch at the festival. So plug in, tune in, and preview the best sounds of this jazz fest.
