The U.S. alone is home to a whopping 417 national parks, so you can imagine how many are cropping up in countries all over the globe.
There are so many national parks, in fact, that governments are now in talks to open 'national park cities' — the first of which will be in England's beloved capital city, London.
The city's Mayor, Sadiq Khan, together with members of the London Assembly and councillors, are pushing to launch the National Park City in 2019. Over £6m of new funding will be injected into London to boost green spaces and tackle the plastic problem.
