If you've ever fancied quitting your job and finally doing that trip across Europe you've always dreamed of, now could be your chance.
The European Union is giving away free Interrail train tickets as part of a pilot scheme set to start in 2018. Yep, 20,000 lucky travelers will be given tickets allowing them to enjoy unlimited travel across Europe's rail network. Of course, with news this good comes a catch — the catch being you need to be 18-years-old. Sigh.
The idea behind the scheme is to allow young people 'to discover the beauty and diversity of Europe over three weeks within a two-year period'. Although Interrailing is not particularly glamorous, a pass will allow you to travel between 30 different countries, including Switzerland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, and France — which if you were to purchase — would set you back around £249 and would give you 15 days of travel time. That's a pretty sweet deal even if you're not one of the lucky chosen ones.
If you are interested in purchasing a ticket for yourself and you're not 18, fear not — anyone between the ages of 12 and 27 is eligible. To find out more, visit the Interrail website.
