It's beginning to be that perfect time of year when you can grab a few friends, put a car in gear, and take off into the unknown. Road trips are practically mandatory for summer, and the options of where you can go are endless. Will it be one of America's awe-inspiring routes? Or perhaps a trip across New Zealand's North Island? If you're feeling undecided, we have your answer: Europe.

A man by the name of Randy Olson plotted a route that passes through most of Business Insider's "50 places in Europe you need to visit in your lifetime." The trip takes a few months to complete considering you drive at a reasonable speed, and loops through 16,287 miles of incredible European sights.

Whether you start in Italy or Poland, the trek will take you through the majority of western and central Europe with stops in France, Spain, the UK, and even Norway. You can view the entire list of stops below, or visit Randy Olson's interactive map for yourself.
