Tea and Brits go together like salt and pepper, spaghetti and meatballs, oreos and milk. And like any lovestruck pair, they can't bear to be without each other — even when 40,000 up in the air.
Whether you're British or not, if you fancy a cup of tea (followed by sandwiches, cakes and scones with cream and jam) you can now enjoy it on board your next Virgin Atlantic Flight. I know what you're thinking — this has got to be a business class luxury, right? Wrong. Afternoon high tea will be served to customers in all classes of service.
In partnership with celebrity French patissier, Eric Lanlard, the airline will serve high tea on its daytime flights, with a trial period running this month, and full service expected to start from this summer.
Even better? If you have access to the Virgin Atlantic London Heathrow Clubhouse, you can also enjoy high tea there between 3 and 5:30 pm. Among the treats — smoked salmon on a mini croissant, savory tarts and a selection of scones with clotted cream, all washed down with a glass of champagne. Delicious.
