Velassaru Maldives is so picture perfect that it literally looks like it's been created in Photoshop. Situated on a private coral island, the secluded resort is home to an array of chic villas that look out over the surrounding sea or lagoon. Lounging by the turquoise waters and pearly sand is the main attraction here, but we strongly suggest joining a scuba diving cruise too. Back on dry land, there's five fantastic restaurants to choose from, and a beaut infinity pool.
Angkor Village Resort, Cambodia
Angkor Village Resort is nothing short of an idyllic tropical oasis. Period. Situated just between the World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat (a must, obvs) and the vibrant city of Siem Reap, this Cambodia gem is oh so pretty. Stunning cottages are scattered throughout the resort's exotic gardens, while the pool weaves its way throughout the property. Regional cuisine is big here, so try out a soothing massage before savoring delicious Khmer, Lao, Thai or Vietnamese food.
Paradise Cove, Mauritius
For a luxurious Mauritian retreat, Paradise Cove boasts quite the number of cool activities, from the laidback to more energetic. Try a lagoon-side massage, paddleboard sesh or complimentary trip to a nearby fishing village. You'll also have your pick of four gorgeous restaurants to explore, when not chilling in the lovely French colonial-style suites. And for an adventure further afield, you can bike through sugarcane fields or take a luxury yacht to Mauritius's northern islands.
Naman Retreat, Vietnam
There are so many impressive features of Naman Retreat, which promise to leave you with blissful memories of central Vietnam. Think endless beaches, nearby UNESCO heritage shrines, and the chance to ride in a traditional basket boat. The resort not only has the most luxe villas and fab treatments at the on-site spa, but a ton of fine dining options too (dazzling restaurant décor included). Head to Hay Hay Restaurant for local specialities, and B Lounge for tapas and live music.
Diamonds Star of the East, Tanzania
This gorgeous sanctuary is set on the tip of Zanzibar, an island that has so much to offer, not least Diamonds Star of the East. Swahili-style villas sit right beside the Indian Ocean, comprising four-poster beds and plunge pools, while the resort has its very own private beach. Get your personal butler to recommend a treatment at the resort's African rain spa, or enjoy a wealth of water sports in the scenic surroundings.
Pangulasian Island Resort, Philippines
Pangulasian Island Resort sits in the dreamiest of locations – on a white sand beach overlooking a divine, palm-fringed bay. The gorgeous Filipino design of the villas, combined with infinity pool and poolside grill, is sure to delight, but the activities on offer are something else. Try a nature walk, go snorkelling, take a private sunset cruise or indulge in local produce under the starry sky.
Nayara Hotel, Costa Rica
You'll be hard pressed to find a hotel with a more dazzling view than that of Nayara Hotel, which looks out onto Costa Rica's Arenal Volcano. Enjoy these views from your spacious casita's terrace, or from the romantic garden with a jacuzzi for two. Also on offer is an indulgent spa in the rainforest, chic new sushi lounge and vintage wine bar.
Perched on mountain foothills overlooking Bali's Petanu River Gorge, Viceroy Bali boasts a location that stuns. Enjoy the jungle views (monkeys included) from your private villa with pool, and chill out in the gorgeous spa. If you can tear yourself away from this and the restaurant's impressive menu, go out and explore Ubud's nearby artists' village.
