With this in mind, home rental site, Airbnb has released a report on 2018 travel trends which will hopefully encourage travelers to visit new spots. 

The reason for the sudden interest in Gangneung, South Korea? Next year's Winter Games are being held there — and as a result, it has seen 2175% more bookings than last year. Other regions becoming increasingly popular include midwestern cities, Indianapolis and Columbus — which have seen a growth in their downtown areas thanks to new restaurants, bars, and a growing arts scene.
