Iceland is so hot right now. Well not in the literal sense, but as a holiday destination it most certainly is. A once awkward location to reach from the US, it has recently become a dreamy vacation destination, topping many a travel wishlist thanks to its many epic natural attractions.
And now it's more tempting than ever to book a flight to Iceland, especially since Icelandic high performance airline WOW Air, has launched an incredible deal. You can fly from the east coast of the US to Reykjavik in Iceland, for just $100 one way or $250 round trip.
The catch? You must be able to fly between November and February. The dates differ between states, but currently, the deal applies to flights departing from Boston, Washington and New York.
At this low-cost rate, you can bring a carry-on bag weighing up to 11kg and one additional personal bag, however checked baggage incurs a fee.
The availability dates departing from Washington are November 27 and December 11 with return dates of December 3, 10, 14-17 and December 21. If you plan to fly out from Boston, you can depart on November 27, 28 or December 4 and fly back between December 1-3 or 7-9. And if New York is your desired city of departure, your availability would be in the new year, on January 23, 30 or 31 and February 7 or 13.
The return dates would then be in February 2017, between the 7-9 or on the 17. Keep in mind, all return flights will bring you back to the original airport at which you departed.
Even if days are dark, they are never dull in Reykjavík during wintertime, as there's always so much going on.
Iceland is renowned for it's geographically-blessed positioning, which shows clear views of the Northern Lights, and Reykjavik has a plethora of thermal pools that ooze natural therapy. If you have time, you could also add a visit to the wonderful Bláfjöll Ski Resort, a mere 30-minute drive from Reykjavík.
