If like a growing number of millennials today, you view a freelance lifestyle as the ultimate dream, you're in luck. According to the 2017 Talent Trends study, nearly 30% of companies now fill roles with freelancers and short-term contract employees. But you're likely to have more luck in certain cities than others.
A new report by PeoplePerHour has revealed the best city for freelancers is, in fact, Germany's capital, Berlin. With its lively party scene, colorful street art and host of trendy bars and eateries, it's become a hotspot for millennials, and this paired with its low rental rates, attracts many young, travel-enthusiast freelancers from across the globe.
Taking into account factors such as the number of coworking spaces, monthly salaries, the overall cost of living, visa requisites and crime rates, the study ranked cities that are not only where millennial professionals are heading for work, but are also the hotspots of the future. The cities that also ranked highly include: Istanbul, Bengaluru, Vancouver, and Lisbon.
