Those who dreamed of becoming astronauts as kids may have grown up disappointed, but who said you can't still visit space? Introducing the only hotel in the world with views literally out of this world — the Aurora Station.
Yep, the world's first space hotel now exists and it's open for reservations. The hotel will be able to host six people at a time, including two crew members, with guests invited on a 12-day journey, soaring 200 miles above the Earth’s surface.
Those on board will experience zero gravity, as well as seeing the Earth's northern and southern aurora, and taking part in various research experiments. And if you want a sunset view, no problem! The Aurora Station will orbit Earth every 90 minutes — so you can take your pick of 16 sunrises and sunsets every 24 hours.
The only catch is the price. A reservation for this once-in-a-lifetime experience will set you back a whopping $9.5 million, with the company accepting refundable deposits of $80,000 to get on the reservation waitlist. The station will launch in late 2021 and host its first guests in 2022. Find out more here.
