Up until now, overwater bungalows have been reserved for coral reef surrounded shores like those in Bora Bora and the Maldives. Now thanks to Sandals Resorts, the Caribbean is getting in on the action, and it couldn't get more romantic than this.
Sandals South Coast in Whitehouse, Jamaica has recently built five dreamy bungalows, with plans to open 12 more on a heart-shaped pier. Featuring breathtaking ocean views and the most luxurious amenities, they'll make for the ultimate romantic destination: tranquil, private, and exotic. Should that romantic trip lead to a little something more, Sandals also plans to open an over-water wedding chapel with stunning 360-degree ocean views and a glass-floor aisle. The happy couple can even arrive to the chapel by boat, if that's their style.
But the beauty serves more than just brides-to-be. Sandals South Coast is ideal for literally anyone to take advantage of the swim-up or over-water bar, which serves drinks directly to your hammock. For the outdoorsy types, opportunities to explore the enticing surroundings are endless, be it by scuba diving, rock climbing, or golf on a championship course.
Rooms at the resort start with the Beachfront Deluxe for $212 USD per person per night and stop with the Mediterranean Butler Villa Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary for $687 per person per night. Unfortunately, the over-water bungalows aren’t available to book yet, but we'll be so patiently waiting.
