Every year, thousands of people flock to Japan — one of the world's most popular vacation spots — for a variety of reasons. Its rich culture, delicious cuisine, and during spring time — its beautiful cherry blossom are all things that bring in visitors.
If you're dying to see Japan in all its beauty, there are certain times of year when cherry blossoms (also known as sakura) flower will reach will full bloom. And the Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC) has started to release its forecasts for this year.
In Tokyo, blooms are expected to begin on March 20 — with full bloom reached on March 28. In Hokkaido, you can expect to see flowers between May 3 and 6; Kyoto between March 27 and April 4; and Osaka between March 26 and April 3. For more information, check out the full forecast.
