a very happy and excited girl having fun at the Vegas EDC music festival

It's no exaggeration to say we're already getting hyped for EDC Las Vegas. Not only is it one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals in the world (held June 16-18 this year, FYI) but it's one heck of a whimsical, artsy carnival too. In fact, there's so much to do this year it's lucky that doors open at 7pm, and don't close 'til 5:30am each night. How to make the best of every single insane offering? Buy a ticket, then check out this handy guide.

Make a grand entrance via helicopter

Yep, this is a thing. You can kick off EDC in the most extravagant way possible, thanks to Maverick Helicopters, Las Vegas’ premier helicopter operator. The company are offering transfers from the Las Vegas Strip to EDC, and although you can book individual seats, go one further and reserve a private charter helicopter for up to seven passengers ($3,000 one-way or $5,000 round-trip). Seriously, the view of one of Sin City's biggest parties from above – over-the-top stages, light displays and all – is pretty unforgettable.

Go crazy on the carnival rides

It's called Electric Daisy Carnival for good reason: EDC is one massive playground, and of course it includes all your fav rides. So yes, there's bumper cars and massive Ferris wheels, but check out Carnival Square, a central meet-up spot, for so much more. We're talking bean bag lounges, a 'consciousness group', a 'chill zone', and light painting photo booths for starters.

Check out the trippy AF art installations

If you're at EDC, your mind will be blown by the crazy 3D superstructures all over the place. Colorful, glow-in-the-dark, and LED infused, they make for the perfect Insta backdrop. They're also super interactive, and pretty trippy - all about the bridges we construct between nature and technology (whatever that means). To add to the insanity, there's a bunch of dancers, aerialists, circus performers, and more. Their OTT costumes, at the very least, are worth checking out.

Party on down at the Marquee SkyDeck

In case you're not in the know, Marquee SkyDeck is EDC's most glitzy, exclusive experience. The deck offers prime stage views (read: the BEST views of kineticFIELD) and private table service for you and your friends. Add-on options include a whole host of tempting treats: gourmet food delivery, a Marquee SkyDeck custom-designed commemorative necklace, and a personally engraved SkyDeck champagne bucket.

Book a swanky hotel package

2017 is gonna be a big year for EDC thanks, in part, to the Official EDC Week Hotel Package that's been launched for the first time. To sum it up, it basically makes booking accommodation a ton more hassle-free as Insomnia has teamed up with dozens of hotels around Vegas. This means guests will be provided with the best possible rates from June 12 to June 20. And we're talking the crème de la crème of hotels, Mandalay Bay, where you can stay for four nights as part of the $1,199 hotel package. This package also includes exclusive club access, fast lane shuttle passes, and so much more (or so we've been told).

Hang out the entire EDC week

Forget what you've been told: EDC is so much more than just a three day shabang. Yep, you can be self-indulgent and party on down for one entire week: there's a bunch of pool parties and music event on the Strip leading up the festival itself. So, start planning your time from June 12 to June 19, 'cos there's a lot to fit in (all of which can be discovered by clicking here). Past clubs to host events have included Omnia, Encore Beach Club, and Drais Nightclub, so whatever happens, you're in for a treat.
