Asking Siri for sushi or directions is great, but voice-control is getting way, way more hi-tech. Case in point: one Vegas hotel will become the first in the world to voice-control all the smart features of their rooms, thanks to a new partnership with Amazon Echo.
So, in case you wanted another reason to visit Sin City, or to hit up glitzy resort Wynn Las Vegas, you've totally got one. By summer 2017 all 4,748 hotel rooms will be fitted with Echo, Amazon's hands-free voice-controlled speaker. For lucky (fine, and lazy) guests, this means every aspect of the room's lights, temperature, and TV can be managed via voice command.
Even better, the five-star hotel plans to continue innovating – the press release has confirmed that "personal assistant functions" will also be introduced. We're not 100 percent sure what that'd entail, but it sure sounds exciting. Props to Wynn for the industry first, and here's to hoping that 2017 brings with it a bunch of new innovations for the tech-savvy traveler.
Until they're here, check out these techy gifts we're lusting after this Christmas.
