When you throw multiple great things together, you usually end up with something legendary. Case in point: when you combine the world’s best bar with London’s best speakeasy, you get a once-in-a-lifetime drinking experience.
Let us explain. NYC’s Dead Rabbit in the Financial District has been ranked #1 by the World’s Best Bar awards for the second year in a row now. The cocktail lounge is named after the Five Points gang that roamed the streets in the 1800s. The decor mimics that, resembling a rough-and-tumble Irish pub from the Big Apple’s wild west days. Think whiskey smash served in antique teacups with mustache guards.
Last summer, the geniuses behind Dead Rabbit opened a second spot, BlackTail, which continues their tradition of artfully crafted cocktails, but this time in a 1920s-Cuba setting that Ernest Hemingway would have been right at home in. And it’s BlackTail that is popping up in London, teaming up with their British counterpart, The Bloomsbury Club.
This classy, speakeasy-themed Soho lounge serves up forgotten classics as well as modern creations, and will be hosting the BlackTail pop-up from February 9th. The menu will feature eight drinks, all of which will be Cuban-themed, inventive, and of the highest quality (well, of course).
You’ll have three nights to enjoy quite possibly the world’s best cocktails at BlackTail’s Bloomsbury Club Bar pop-up, and you can expect to see us there every night. Until then, check out these Instas of BlackTail in NYC to whet your appetite:
