The speakeasy trend may never end, and we aren’t complaining. With spots like The Varnish, The Blind Barber, and No Vacancy, west coasters have more than enough cool hidden bars to stumble into (or out of). The latest addition to the trend comes in the form of a train station (well, a bar that's themed like one).
Melrose Station is officially open and ready for you to discover, just make sure you know how to find it first. You’ll have to head into the Glass Hookah Lounge at 7384 Melrose Ave, and from there a host will direct you to the Station’s secret entrance. Don’t worry, you won’t have to run into a brick wall like Harry. The interior is right on par with the best speakeasies in LA, having gray walls, a marble bar top, a chandelier, and plenty of sleek leather, train carriage-like seating.
Expect craft cocktails, in the forms of both classics and contemporary creations. Bites include things like cheese boards, skewers, and flatbreads. You’ll get plenty of flavor but not much bulk, making Melrose Station a great spot for a first date.
Just make sure you and your date’s outfits are on point, because you’ll need to pass a dress code: leave the tank top, sportswear, or flip flops at home. Melrose Station asks its patrons to dress in fashion forward, casual chic, or business attire.
So, once you decide on an outfit, it's time to hop on-board.
