As if we needed any more reasons to make Milan our next travel destination, here we are again, swooning over the Italian fashion capital of the world. This time, though, it’s because of the most extravagant hotel suite we've ever seen.
The Excelsior Hotel Gallia is home to the world's leading hotel suite (for the second year) according to the World Travel Awards 2016. Covering a staggering 11,000 square feet, The Katara Suite sleeps up to eight people comfortably across four bedrooms, and boasts a private Pagoda spa (complete with hot tub, Turkish bath, and sauna), two outdoor terraces, and multiple living and dining spaces.
When the suite was designed, high-profile guests were prioritized. The result includes a conference room, a separate diplomatic entrance, 24-hour butler service, and even bulletproof windows. That kind of service (and safety) will cost you though, setting you back a lavish £17,000 ($20,000 USD) per night. Nobody ever said the finer things were cheap.
