New york empire state building and statue of liberty

Just in case you've been inspired to culture yourself since Angelina Jolie took her kids out for a museum day in Paris, New Yorkers are in luck. In a city so often associated with being ridiculously expensive, certain museums and art galleries are giving you a break on admission prices this month through to February 11.

Sixty five of the city's top sights will be participating in NYC Must-See Week, meaning that they will be offering two-for-one tickets to all interested guests. Some of the participants include the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Carnegie Hall, the Museum of Modern Art, One World Observatory, and the Empire State Building. You know what that means — it's the perfect time to take a friend on a trip to New York, and to cross off all the sights from your bucket list for half the price. Hell, you can even go on a photo safari through Central Park.

You can grab the tickets you want from their website, and apply the discount by entering the code "MUSTSEE18". Unfortunately, if you're into group travel there's a maximum of just two redemptions (four tickets) per purchaser, but we can still see a way around that one.
