Girl with French bulldog puppy

Puzzled as to why cats keep stealing the spotlight? Dog lovers rejoice - New York City is getting its first ever dog cafe. Coming to the trendy East Village, Boris & Horton which is aptly named after the beloved pooches belonging to owners Coppy Holzman and his daughter Logan, is setting up shop.

To clarify, this is slightly different from your average cat cafe, where visitors arrive in the hopes of adopting their next furry friend. Instead, Boris & Horton have more of a bring your own dog (BYOD) concept. Those looking to adopt can, however, check out the Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue events which will take place in the space on weekends.

A fun cafe complete with a photo booth and retail store, "upscale coffee and treats" will be offered to humans, and of course there will be plenty of goodies for your furry friends.  And just in case the place descends into utter chaos, there will be a designated side for dogs to run around while their humans chat over coffee and cake. There will also be a canine lounging area so you're free to cuddle with your critters on the comfort of a couch.

If you aren't a dog-owner and you find yourself getting FOMO, you can be happy in the knowledge that owning a dog is not compulsory to enter this pooch paradise. Boris & Horton is set to open sometime in December, and while you wait you can browse their website
