This Valentine's Day, give your loved one something special. And by that, we mean an actual piece of the Eiffel Tower.
Yes, your prayers for the perfect gift (likely for that ridiculously hard-to-buy-for person) have come true. Paris' most iconic landmark is selling its long-admired sparkly lights off to buyers, and the timing couldn't be better.
A total of 450 lights are now up for sale, priced at about $669 USD per bulb. Fastened to a Venetian red, riveted steel base, each one is unique from the next, and they each come with a certificate of authenticity plus a print of Caren Georges engraving “The Eiffel Tower ablaze during the 1889 Universal Expo.”
But don't worry — this doesn't mean that the lights are disappearing from the tower entirely. Rather, these particular bulbs have finished their time on the tower, and are likely to be replaced by new, brighter bulbs to keep the city of light aglow.
