As the world begins to emerge from lockdown, sports fans across the globe are eagerly awaiting the return to live action. Sadly, many of the major leagues are still closed for business as they attempt to find a way to adapt to the new normal. But while the floodgates are yet to be opened, there are thankfully trickles of live and virtual action for us to enjoy.
From primetime German soccer to a couple of NFL players throwing down in Madden 20, here’s our guide to the best on-screen sports you can enjoy during the week ahead.
Sunday: The German Bundesliga
Last week’s return was a success for German soccer with the country’s top clubs taking to the pitch for a full round of action. Things looked a little different from normal, but once you got used to the eerily quiet stadiums and subdued celebrations it was business as usual for fans of the beautiful game. All eyes will be on the Bundesliga once again this weekend as the battle at the top of the table intensifies with Borussia Dortmund’s visit to Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt looking like the tastiest treats amidst a buffet of live games.
How to watch: SportsNet (Canada), Fox Sports (USA).
Sunday: Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson
Friends, rivals, icons - two of golf’s greatest go head-to-head this weekend at this specially arranged event taking place at the Medalist Golf Club in Florida from 3pm ET on Sunday. The duo will be joined by teammates Peyton Manning and Tom Brady for a star-studded matchup that will help to raise money for those affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
How to watch: TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN (USA) and TSN (Canada)
Race fans will be revved up for this week’s NASCAR Cup Series race, the Coca-Cola 600 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The event will be the third in eight days since the resumption of the season and boasts an all-star field of talent with Ross Chastain, JJ Yeley and Grey Gaulding among the 40 drivers who will be revving up at the starting line. Adding to the excitement, NASCAR has set up an in-car camera livestream so you can enjoy the race live from the driver's seat.

Tuesday: Korean Baseball Championship League
For those of you who don’t mind an early start, or a late night depending on your perspective, this Tuesday's 2:30am clash between the Lotte Giants and Samsung Lions will be a must-watch. The first pitch will be a treat for bleary-eyed baseball fans, as will the action on the diamond with reigning champs Doosan facing off against the Giants who, despite a storied history, have of late echoed the form of their San Francisco-based namesake by missing out on the post-season for the last two years.
How to watch: Games are being broadcast on ESPN (USA), but you can also enjoy live action via their website and app.
Tuesday: Saquon Barkley Vs Tua Tagovailo
For those hankering for some Gridiron action, NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley and recent Miami Dolphins draftee Tua Tagovailo are set to go head to head in a round of Madden 20 this Tuesday. The match-up is part of Verizon's Pay it Forward Live, a weekly livestream series in support of small businesses affected by COVID-19.
How to watch: Check Launchtrip+ for the livestream links once they become available.
