Remember that time we published a map of what each US state hates the most? The answers were varied — ranging from fidget spinners to friendly reminder emails — and quite often entertaining. Now, the same app, Hater, has done more specific research into which exact foods each US state hates the most, and again, the results range from outrageous to relatable.
The app has over hundreds of thousands of users who are each shown a person, activity, item, or concept (read: food) and are then told to either swipe in the direction of approval or dislike. The users are then matched with others who share the same hate for certain things. According to an article published by the Huffington Post, "Since February, more than 600,000 users have swiped on the app’s 3,000 topics over 100 million times." That's a whole lotta hate.
The map, which you can see below, shows hatred for everything from 'Lunchables' to 'Pumpkin Spice Anything'. California hates Chick-fil-A, Texas hates steak cooked well done, and Louisiana hates cookies with raisins. Check out the rest of the states below, and see whether your own preferences (or shall we say hatred) of things matches up with where you live.
