You read that right. This winter, you’ll be able to fly from the United States to Barcelona, Spain, for as little as $317 USD. The Airfare Spot recently made the announcement, and people are already planning their getaways.
Flying with Norwegian Air Shuttle, there's a handful of options for departures: Boston for $317 return, and New York City for $342 return, both from January through March. West coasters need not worry, as you’ll be able to fly out of Oakland and Los Angeles in January and February, for $367 and $401. To cut the cost even more, it's recommended you book your flights in British pounds to take advantage of the devaluation of the currency of late, and to use a travel-friendly credit card if possible.
Keep in mind that Norwegian Air Shuttle fares don’t include checked luggage, so it would be wise to just take a well-packed carry-on. That’ll also save you time once you land, getting you into the Mediterranean paradise of Barcelona that much sooner. While you’re there, we suggest checking out the Bogatell and Barceloneta beaches, the botanical gardens on the Montjuïc hillside, and Antoni Gaudí’s picturesque Park Güell.
Whether you want to plan a long vacation or a long weekend, Barcelona is a great place to do it, and this winter that will be easier than ever.
