Spring break is just around the corner, and if you haven't gotten started on booking those flight tickets yet you should probably start panicking right about now. Thankfully, Kayak has just released a forecast on the most popular spring break destinations in each American state – and some of the results might surprise you.

While Maui and Havana didn't surprise us in experiencing the highest spike in Google searches, some less expected destinations did show up. Both Managua, Nicaragua and Santiago, Chile made an appearance as the most popular Latin American searches. As for travel within the US, trips to Reno went up by 90% for residents in Delaware, while Nevada itself seems quite keen on trekking out to Corpus Christi, Texas.

Popular far-flung vacation destinations include Helsinki, Lisbon and Glasgow in Europe; Taipei in Asia; Dubai and Tel Aviv in the Middle East; and Cape Town in Africa. Whether you're looking to avoid the crowds or to join them, you can check out all the statistics on Kayak's report here.
