If you're an avid VIVA reader, you'll know by now where in the U.S. you can legally* smoke marijuana and where you cannot. Among those banning the green stuff: New York, Kansas, and Utah. The lucky few states able to keep puffing to their heart's content — west coast favorites, including Washington, Oregon, and, you guessed it — California.
In the words of Tupac, 'California knows how to party' — and now it seems nowhere more than at the Standard Hotel — which is partnering with luxury THC confection creator, Lord Jones, to open a marijuana boutique that will sell a variety of weed-infused items, including both edibles and 'smokable products'.
This comes just months after Californian residents voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana — and Lord Jones is just one of the many brands taking advantage of the change. But apparently the regulations around its sale are still being hammered out and won't be totally set in stone until 2018.
Lord Jones plan to coincide the opening of the boutique with this, as well as cementing plans to open a second location in the downtown L.A. Standard on Flower Street.
*These are states in which you can legally cultivate marijuana, legally sell marijuana and legally consume marijuana for recreational or medical purposes.
